Reflecting on Nature: Poetry Workshop and Competition

Poetry Festival Singapore and the National Parks Board, organisers of the Reflecting on Nature: On-the-Spot Poetry Competition invite aspiring poets from Primary 4 to 6 to join us for a writing workshop and competition themed around the topic of nature. Selected participants will learn to express their experiences with nature through poetry during this workshop, and will be given time to develop their own original work. Their poem will be submitted for the Competition with attractive prizes to be won.

NOTE: This competition is only open to local/foreign students age 10 to 12 years old (e.g. Primary 4 to Primary 6).

Poem Length: From 3 to 14 lines (written with writing prompts that will be provided)
Registration Deadline: 9 May 2019 (Thursday)
Selected participant(s)/student(s) will be informed by: 13 May 2019 (Monday)
Competition & Workshop Date: 25 May 2019 (Saturday)
Venue: Function Hall, Botany Center, Singapore Botanic Gardens

Pre-Registration is required to participate in the competition-workshop on
25 May 2019.

Submit a short poem to pre-register.

No prior experience in writing is needed! We welcome all within the age range!
